Members of Local 1588 are eligible to join the Seaport Federal Credit Union, a non-profit financial services institution owned by the members and operated democratically. Because it is a non-profit, the SFCU can generally offer higher interest and lower fee banking as well as good deals on auto loan and mortgage services.

All members of the Local can take advantage of the credit union’s benefits. However, at the present time, only Global employees are set up to have payroll deductions sent directly to their SFCU account. The Local is in the process of negotiating deduction systems at other shops. In the meantime, you can open an account as you would at any bank.
